I trained to become a counsellor following a career in HR. This allowed me to support people in a more personalised way.
Through my own experiences helping and supporting employees with workplace issues, including working as a counsellor for Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP’s), I have found an intersection where counselling and the workplace merge perfectly together.
I loved my job in HR, but frequently saw capable employees struggling with stress, burnout, feeling low or not feeling good enough, and being signed off work on a short/medium/long-term basis. I was sure there was more I could do to help but was frustratingly restricted in doing so.
In exit interviews, employees would take the opportunity to open up and express their unrestricted, raw, honest emotions and detail their dissatisfaction, upset, and reasons for leaving. Interestingly, many had not felt safe to do this before handing in their resignations and they were quite frankly imploding on their final day in the workplace with all that had been left unsaid. Many would leave the room feeling like a weight had been lifted off them because they felt validated, seen, and heard. The act of talking and processing their emotions with me had shifted something within them.
I realised that it shouldn’t take a person to be pushed to the point of looking for a new job before getting help.
I have experience working with people who face workplace challenges that really take over their lives and it can be extremely scary, surreal, and isolating.

For those that prefer counselling in the comfort of their own space, I offer sessions on Zoom.
Counselling lasts 50 minutes.
I offer a free initial 20 minute phone call and this is an opportunity for you to outline your issues, to ask me any questions you may have about the way I work and for me to see whether I can help.
For the initial consultation (50 minutes) there is a discounted fee of £30. This offers us the opportunity to meet and further discuss any queries you might have.
If, after the initial consultation you choose to begin counselling, individual sessions are 50 minutes at a cost of £60.
I offer daytime, evening, and Saturday morning spaces. I can offer weekly or fortnightly sessions to fit in with your life.
There is no limit to the number of sessions you may wish to have. Some clients choose to attend on a short-term basis (6-8 weeks), whereas others opt for longer-term or open-ended therapy without a particular time frame in mind. This is reviewed regularly to make sure that counselling is still meeting your needs, and it is entirely your choice when you stop.
Before we begin our work together, there will be an initial 50-minute consultation. This helps to get a good initial sense of your present situation and is an opportunity to say what is troubling you, what has brought you to counselling now, and what you would like to achieve by attending. It also helps us to get to know one another a little better and to see if we are a good fit.
The sessions are strictly confidential and the only person I will discuss your work with is my supervisor. This enables the environment we work in to be contained. The only time that I may have to breach confidentiality out of this setting would be if there was a risk to yourself, or to someone close to you, but in the event of this occurring, unless there were legal reasons preventing us from doing so, we would endeavour to discuss any breach in our sessions in advance.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which is the largest professional body representing counselling and psychotherapy in the UK. You can view my Registered status on the BACP Register website. Being a Registered Member of BACP demonstrates that my credentials and fitness to practice have been checked and approved by an independent professional body.
I work from Odiham, and see clients from the surrounding areas for in-person sessions.
In addition to providing face-to-face therapy, I also offer online sessions for clients across the UK via Zoom. Contact me to find out more about how online therapy works.
Counselling sessions for individuals last 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £60 per session.
